.Pallets Manufacturing Process
🔹 1. Pre-Formulation and Material Selection
The process begins with the careful selection and testing of raw materials. Each ingredient undergoes pre-formulation analysis to ensure compatibility, stability, and performance. Talwar Pharma uses high-quality excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) sourced from trusted vendors.
🔹 2. Powder Blending and Mixing
Raw materials are accurately weighed and uniformly blended using high-shear mixers or ribbon blenders. This ensures a homogeneous mixture, which is critical for maintaining uniform drug content in each pellet.
🔹 3. Wet Granulation or Extrusion
Based on the formulation requirements, the blended powder is either granulated or processed through an extruder. In extrusion, the wet mass is pushed through dies to form uniform strands, which are the foundation of pellets.
🔹 4. Spheronization
The extruded strands are then placed in a spheronizer to convert them into small, round pellets. Talwar Pharma ensures size uniformity and roundness using high-precision equipment, which is essential for even coating and consistent drug release.
🔹 5. Drying
The wet pellets are dried using Fluid Bed Dryers (FBD) or Tray Dryers, depending on the batch size and moisture content. Proper drying ensures stability and prevents microbial growth.
🔹 6. Screening and Size Grading
Dried pellets are passed through vibratory sieves to remove fines or oversized particles. Only uniformly sized pellets move forward, ensuring consistent flow and compression characteristics in the final product.
🔹 7. Coating (If Required)
Pellets are often coated using coating pans or fluidized bed coaters to achieve modified-release profiles, taste masking, or protection from environmental factors. Coating ensures controlled drug delivery and patient compliance.
🔹 8. Quality Control and Packaging
Final pellets are subjected to rigorous quality checks—including dissolution testing, assay, friability, and moisture analysis. Approved batches are then packaged in moisture-resistant containers for further use or sale.
